Before you begin installation

Launch the My Co-op Power app and log in using your My Co-op Power credentials. If you have trouble logging in, email us for help: support@mycooppower.com

Step 1: Set up your Energy Bridge Hub

Unpack

Open the Energy Bridge box and remove the contents. Be sure to recycle all the cardboard & paper packaging

Double check the contents

The Energy Bridge box should contain:
✓ Energy Bridge
✓ Power Adapter
✓ Ethernet Cable (optional)*
You will also need your Wi-Fi password.

*If you choose to connect via Ethernet, wait to plug it in until directed by the in-app setup. Plugging it in too early can interfere with the setup process.

Find a suitable spot in your home

Find a spot you’d like to keep your Energy Bridge and plug it into a power outlet. Your Energy Bridge will have the best connection if you avoid placing it near routers, modems, or large metal objects such as your fridge. However, because you will be using the Meter Sensor to see real-time energy, you will not need to place the Energy Bridge near your electric meter as the app may suggest.

Open the app and launch Setup

Go to My Devices (EKPC Icon) in the app and follow the prompts to begin the in-app Energy Bridge setup process. As a reminder, do not connect the ethernet cord until directed to do so. The app will walk you through the rest of the Energy Bridge setup process from here. After conntecting to internet, you’re all set and can tab the back arrow—you will not need to complete the “Request Bind” portion of the in-app guided setup.

Complete Steps 2-5 using the Installation Wizard

Launch the Installation Wizard to walk you through the installation step-by-step.

Step 2: Activate Meter Sensor

Step 3: Connect CloudConnector to Internet

Find a suitable location for CloudConnector

For best overall performance of the CloudConnector and Meter Sensor connection follow the following tips:

  • Place as close as possible to the electricity meter
  • Do not place outdoors
  • Preferably same side of the house as electricity meter.
  • No large metal objects such as duct work or hot water tanks between the CloudConnector and Meter Sensor
  • Avoid kitchen and large appliances
  • If in garage, avoid location where vehicle can block signal

Connect to Internet: Wired (Recommended)

It's recommended you use this method to connect to Internet rather than Wi-Fi because it is a more simple and easier process. However if your router is too far away from your meter or you do not have the option to plug in a device directly, you will need to connect via Wi-Fi.

  1. Plug an ethernet cable into the CloudConnector.
  2. Plug the power adapter into an outlet then insert the power cable into the CloudConnector.
  3. Press and hold the button until the light on the CloudConnector turns on and remains solid blue.
  4. Internet setup complete. Continue to Meter Sensor Installation.
EKPC Guide Step 3

Connect to Internet: Wi-Fi

Use this method to connect to Internet if your router is too far away from your meter, or if you do not have the option to plug into a router directly.

  1. IMPORTANT: Put your phone into Airplane Mode, then turn on Wi-Fi only.
  2. Plug the CloudConnector power adapter into an outlet but do not connect to CloudConnector.
  3. Press-and-hold the button on the CloudConnector.
  4. Insert the power adapter into the CloudConnector.
  5. Continue to hold the button until the LED comes on, then release the button. This places the CloudConnector in set-up mode.
  6. The CloudConnector will scan for Wi-Fi networks (fast flashing). When the CloudConnector enters set-up mode the LED will “double flash”
  7. Go to the Wi-Fi setting on your computer or mobile device and select the CloudConnector network (cloudconnector-xxxxxx). NOTE: When you connect to the CloudConnector network, you will lose internet access temoporarily—this is normal.
  8. Once connected to the CloudConnector Wi-Fi network, open a browser, and go to https://192.168.187.1/

IMPORTANT: If manually typing in the URL to your browser you must type in the full characters in link above including 'https://' in front of the address and ensure there are no spaces after the last digit. If not typed in exactly as it is listed above it will not link to page. If the page does not load, verify that you are in Airplane mode with Wi-Fi enabled.

If page does not load, please power cycle the CloudConnector (Unplug CloudConnector, then plug back in to restore power) and repeat step 6 of Wi-Fi connection steps.
  9. If presented with an error message that says “Your connection is not private”, click on the “Advanced” link at the bottom of the page to continue. On the next page, click the link that says “Proceed to 192.168.187.1”.
Note: if the page does not close, just exit the window.
  10. Once you land on the Cloud Connector Wi-Fi Setup page, enter your home Wi-Fi credentials and click save.
  11. Internet setup Complete. Continue to Meter Sensor Installation.
EKPC Guide Step 3

Connect to Internet: Wi-Fi. If presented with the message on the left, click “Advanced”at the bottom of the page to continue. Once you see the screen on the left, click the link that says “Proceed to 192.168.187.1”.

Step 4: Install Meter Sensor to Electricity Meter

EKPC Install Meter Sensor 1
EKPC Install Meter Sensor 2
EKPC Install Meter Sensor 3
  1. Active port- Adjust the sensor head bracket as shown in the first image, then tighten the sensor clamp. The active port should be located at the 3 o'clock position on the meter.
  2. Loosen the locknut on the sensor head, slide the sensor head into the bracket over the active port with the white index mark facing left, then tighten the locknut.
  3. After everything is aligned and installed on the meter, momentarily break the battery on the sensor and observe the status light behavior.

Watch the installation video on YouTube →

Once installed, you should see the following status light pattern on the physical Meter Sensor:

  1. Solid GREEN- Good battery status (rapid flashing RED indicates low battery. Change the battery)
  2. Solid RED – Detecting meter
  3. Flashing RED – Detected meter
  4. Triple flashing GREEN – Excellent Meter Signal- Ultimate State

If the status light stays on solid RED after several minutes, and never starts triple flashing Green:

  • Realign your sensor head then break the battery connection and observe the status light behavior.
  • Turn on your dryer to generate enough load to get the meter recognized.

After Meter Sensor is installed, CloudConnector should have the below status:

  • LED should be off with brief blue flash every 15 second.
  • If you do not see this please press and hold the button on the CloudConnector until the light turns on.
